Senior Payroll Coordinator
Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire
Hours: Full-time, Permanent / Some flexibility in working hours may be considered
Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Coordinator to join our clients payroll team. The role involves the accurate and timely processing of payroll services for a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and supporting both internal teams and external clients with payroll-related matters.
End-to-end processing of weekly, monthly and annual payrolls for a varied client base
Setting up new payroll schemes, including starters, leavers, and workplace pension enrolments
Calculation and administration of statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and SPP
Management of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including remittance preparation and HMRC submissions
Preparation and submission of pension declarations in line with auto-enrolment requirements
Production of payroll and CIS reports for clients, audit, and internal use
Support with year-end payroll processes and reconciliations
Liaising with HMRC on payroll-related matters as required
Working closely with internal accounts and tax teams to ensure accurate reporting
Direct communication with clients, responding to queries and providing support
Essential:
Proven payroll experience in a multi-client or practice environment
Strong numerical ability and high level of accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage workload independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
CIPP qualification or working towards CIPP accreditation
